High
Art brought to a Common Fireplace
The fireplace
is always a focal point in a room, but this one was lacking impact,
personality, and style. The putty-gray porcelain tile and mauve
mantel would never work with the new design direction the adjacent
rooms were taking, so….a built-up hearth seat was created
to add depth and more conversational seating to enjoy the fire…The
rich colors of the slate give it an earthy (yet contemporary) feel,
and tie in beautifully with the accessories and artwork. The architectural
detailing surrounding the fireplace was hidden before by white
paint…now it is strongly accented in a copper faux finish
giving drama and flair to this newly transformed contemporary family
room.
